As always, Autosport International Radio will be available in the environs of the show on 87.7 MHz FM from Wednesday 10th January. You can also listen to it before visiting the show via your Sky Digital Receiver on Channel 907, or via the online link on the Autosport site. Damon Hill British Racing Drivers Club President |
Danish driver Tom Kristensen, (the most successful ever Le Mans driver with 7 wins) attended the show together with many other famous names including Damon Hill, Andy Prilaulx, Allan McNish, Christian Horner, Jason Plato, Matt Neal, Allan McNish, Martin Brundle, Jonathan Palmer and a host of other stars from F1, Le Mans, DTM, BTCC, F3, GP Masters, WTCC and many other forms of motorsport. Opening the show on Thursday 11th January 2007, British Racing Drivers Club president Damon Hill said that 2007 would be a very exciting year for British Motorsport, and that the possibility of success for British Drivers in F1 was greater than it had been since his championship victory in 1996. |
Last year Autosport won a prestigious award for the 3d reconstruction of the first corner at Monaco. An equally stunning F1 display was created for the 2007 show.
Panasonic / Toyota F1's Race Truck was at the show to give visitors a chance to see first hand the environment that the F1 crew operate in. The stand also included audio, video and real F1 equipment to give visitors a real hands on experience.
This year, we were particularly looking forward to the Le Mans feature which celebrated the famous race with some of its exciting cars. Top of the bill was the lightweight C-type Jaguar which was victorious in 1953 and the latest Le Mans winner the Audi R8. For most of us, this could be the only chance to see such a fantastic range of Le Mans vehicles, and with so many past and present Le Mans drivers attending the show, this year's Le Mans interest at the show was particularly exciting.
