Who's idea was it to hold the Carnival on the wettest weekend of the year? It rained persistently during the week. It rained all Friday night. It rained all Saturday morning. By Saturday lunchtime the field was just a bit wet.
In the finest traditions of Carnivals worldwide - the show went on - well some of it anyway.
Thank you to everyone who took part and watched the Parade despite the weather.
Sorry the Field Events were cancelled but it was too wet after persistent rainfall.

Despite the weather, over £600 was donated to the Breast Cancer Research Action Group (BCRAG).
The group was founded in 1994 to campaign for a dedicated Breast Unit at the General Infirmary in Leeds.
Having achieved the original goal, their efforts now fund vital medical research.
