Toyota Corolla
|
Toyota's biggest selling car has been popular since it was launched in 1966. But sadly, on its 40th anniversary, we hear the news that the name is to be dropped and its replacement (expected in 2007 or 2008) will have a different name.
The Corolla badge has been worn by more cars than any other badge in automotive history - over 30 million sales worldwide. | | In some markets, a four door version of the new car will keep the Corolla (or Rolla to enthusiasts) name alive. | | We don't know what name will replace the car, nor what the new 'Rolla' will look like yet; however, as far as looks go, we're expecting something a little like a Yaris on steroids and we're guessing it's going to be good. That said, we're not huge fans of every revision of the car, so we're hoping that the new one's going to be at least as good as the current version which we like - a lot.

Other Information
I've been a proud owner of a Seventh Generation (E100 Series) Corolla since I bought it new in 1994 (12 years ago at this time). Whilst it's certainly not one of the most exciting cars ever made, its reliability has been faultless, and it does everything I expect of it without fuss or complaint.
